Katelynn Barrett

I hold a Master’s in Counseling Ministry from California Baptist University, accredited by the American Association of Christian Counselors. I am not a licensed therapist, though I deeply value the role of Christian therapists. However, my calling is in a space where I can be unapologetically biblical—offering counsel that is anchored in Scripture and centered on a relationship with Christ.

A BIT ABOUT ME

My approach to counseling is process-focused rather than outcome-focused; I shy away from making personal fulfillment the focus, although I desire for my clients to experience personal satisfaction and happiness. Rather, I focus on helping people walk in faithfulness to God, even through challenging times. I avoid promising relief from suffering; Jesus never promised a life without suffering, but He did promise His presence. In my practice, I seek to be an instrument of His comfort, hope, and truth—helping individuals, minors, couples, & families navigate challenges through the lens of Scripture. I give them the tools they need to cope with their present circumstance, work through relational discord, and break patterns of brokenness. I seek to help deepen their understanding of self, God, and others, all while praying that God would move in mighty ways.

MY APPROACH

The heart behind Lampstand Biblical Counseling is that light does not always remove darkness, but it does reveal what is true. Light brings clarity, hope, and guidance—helping us see the next step forward. This is what I strive to do for those I counsel.
